Americans love their pumpkins (so much so that they even have taken to wearing it under their armpits), but there’s another Pumpkins that they might love even more—David S. Pumpkins, that is. The Saturday Night Live character, which became a viral hit after it appeared in last year’s Halloween episode, is slated to make its return to NBC—this time in cartoon form.

The “Haunted Elevator” skit which introduced jack-o’-lantern-suit-and-tie-wearing David S. (“What he has a middle initial now?”) Pumpkins, as played by 9-time SNL host Tom Hanks, was successful enough to warrant the creation of a half-hour animated Halloween special. The special, which will air on Saturday, October 28th at 11:30 p.m., will once again feature Tom Hanks, Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan providing the voices for Mr. Pumpkins and his dancing-skeleton sidekicks. According to Deadline Hollywood, the three characters will help a young brother and sister find the true meaning of Halloween “answering none of their questions along the way.” Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones will guest star.

The satisfaction and hilarity of the “Haunted Elevator” skit was largely inexplicable, though perhaps it was the absurdity of it, as well as the looks on Tom Hanks’ face, that made the internet explode. As The Atlantic noted, the sketch worked “because everyone was 100 percent committed to the silliness.”

And silliness is exactly what we’ll be waiting for. In the meantime, “Any questions?!”
