But wait, there’s a catch.

Chipotle’s guacamole—famously, notoriously and sadly—costs extra (unless you’re Cardi B). But aren’t all rules made to be bent and broken sometimes?

Burrito connoisseurs were shocked and overcome with excitement last week after the fast casual Mexican chain announced that, in honor of “National Avocado Day”—which is a thing, apparently—it would be offering free guacamole.

Goodbye, Planet Earth.

On July 31st, anybody who orders an entrée at Chipotle will be entitled to a free order of guacamole, be it as a topping, as a side, or as an accompaniment to an order of chips.

There is a catch, of course. In this technological day and age, many restaurants have their own apps. Chipotle, seeking to draw attention to its own, has mandated that free guacamole shall only be bestowed upon those who order their food through the mobile app or the company’s website.

By using the promo code “AVOCADO,” hungry internauts will gain access to their discounted chippies and dippies.

So go forth, guac lovers, and seize your green. National Avocado Day lasts but 24 hours.
