Fireball Bagels: It Was Bound to Happen Eventually

Only in New Jersey.

Since any good breakfast needs a taste of the previous night’s mistakes, one New Jersey bagel shop is crafting bagels made with the cinnamon-flavored whisky liqueur.

At the Bagel Nook in Freehold, NJ, master bagel-bakers churn out Fireball bagels, which reportedly don’t taste so bad. But how, you might ask? The booze is mixed into the dough, which is then shaped, boiled and baked like any good bagel. The very same stuff is then thrown in a pan with syrup to create a glaze, which coats the bagel before it gets a showering of powdered sugar. The bagel is served as a sandwich with apple pie cream cheese, giving the customers what they want (and then a little more): fall flavors with a dose of dive bar-slash-frat party.

The folks at the Bagel Nook are notorious for their Instagram-friendly viral bagels, including the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Bagel and Insane Overload bagels with Oreos, Fruity Pebbles and Cookie Dough.

Love or hate the liquor, apple objectively tastes great with cinnamon and New Jersey bagels are objectively the best on the planet. So maybe the Fireball bagel is worth it after all.
