Yogurt Onion Dip

Ingredients
- 1 (32 ounce) plain yogurt
- 1 cup shredded Italian cheese
- 3⁄4 cup chopped red onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1⁄2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1⁄4 cup snipped fresh basil or 1⁄4 cup Italian parsley
Directions
- Line a yogurt strainer, sieve or small colander with three layers of 100% cotton cheesecloth or a clean paper coffee filter.
- Suspend lined strainer, sieve, or colander over a bowl.
- Spoon in yogurt.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
- Remove yogurt cheese from strainer; discard liquid.
- Transfer to a large bowl.
- Stir in cheese, onion , garlic, and seasoned salt.
- Cover and chill for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.
- Stir in basil just before serving.
- Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve with vegetables and/or crackers.
