Walnut Blondie With Maple Butter Sauce

This is very similar to the dessert served at Applebees. Excellent alternative to chocolate brownies. Brown sugar can be increased or decreased to taste. Show more

  1. Blondie:
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add chopped nuts.
  5. Mix well and set aside.
  6. Combine brown sugar, and melted butter.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Add eggs and vanilla.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Add the flour mixture slowly mixing well.
  11. Stir in chocolate chips.
  12. Spread into a 13" x 9" pan.
  13. Bake 20-25 minutes or until done.
  14. Sauce:
  15. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup.
  16. Stir well.
  17. Stir in the walnuts.
  18. Warm in microwave, if desired.
  19. Pour over Blondie to serve.
