Orange Pecan Brownies

The orange liqueur and zest really make this a stand-out dessert!

Ingredients

  • 8  ounces light margarine
  • 6  ounces  semisweet chocolate
  • 2  ounces  unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 12 cups sugar
  • 34 cup  egg white, at room temperature
  • 1 12 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2  tablespoons  orange liqueur
  • 1  tablespoon  grated orange zest
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 1  cup pecans, chopped (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F Grease & flour 9x13" baking pan.
  2. Melt margarine & chocolates in double boiler. Set aside & cool.
  3. Using electric mixer on medium speed, cream together sugar and eggs. Continue beating 2 minutes.
  4. With mixer on low, add flour, liqueur, zest and salt.
  5. Add cooled chocolate mixture and blend well. Stir in nuts.
  6. Pour into pan & bake 20-25 minutes.
