New Year's Eve Black-Eyed Peas

Ingredients
- 12 ounces black-eyed peas (dry)
- 8 cups water (see recipe instructions)
- 1 ham bone (with a little bit of ham left on)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1⁄2 cup pickled jalapeno pepper (chopped finely)
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Place ham bone in a crock pot.
- Cover with black eyed peas.
- Cover with water. (You will need to have about 3 inches of water above the peas).
- Add seasonings and jalapenos.
- Cook on low heat 8-10 hours.
