Caramel-Apple Pie

I made this Caramel Apple Pie for my kids who were here for a visit. I should have made 2 pies, I never got a piece of this pie, it went that fast. Guess I'll have to make another one just for myself. Show more

Directions

  1. Prepare piecrust.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough from center to edges into a 12-inch circle.
  3. Wrap pastry around a rolling pin.
  4. Unroll into a 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Ease pastry into pie plate.
  6. Trim to 1/2-inch beyond edge of plate.
  7. Fold under pastry;crimp.
  8. Don't prick pastry.
  9. For Filling:
  10. In large bowl, mix sugar, 1/4 cup flour and cinnamon.
  11. Add apples and toss to coat.
  12. Transfer to pastry-lined pie plate.
  13. Combine 2 Tablespoons of the caramel-apple dip and 2 Tablespoons milk; drizzle over apples.
  14. In mixing bowl, combine the 1 cup flour and brown sugar. Cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  15. Sprinkle over filling.
  16. Cover edge of pie with foil to prevent over browning.
  17. Place on baking sheet.
  18. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
  19. Remove foil.
  20. Bake 25-30 minutes more or until golden.
  21. Cool 10 minutes.
  22. Drizzle remaining caramel dip over top.
  23. Cool pie on wire rack.
  24. Enjoy.
