Apple Cheese Sausage Balls

Yields: 24 balls

Ingredients

  • 2  lbs bulk sausage
  • 8  ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1  egg
  • 15  ounces  unseasoned breadcrumbs, already crumbled or 4  slices  bread, toasted and crumbled in food processor
  • 4  small apples, cored, unpeeled, cut into bite-size pieces

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Using an ice cream scoop as a measure, form into 2-inch balls.
  2. Place on greased baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees until done, about 30 to 45 minutes.
