@Crickets Culinary C
I live in Everett, WA. My passion is to cook and bake for others. I love to cater parties and events, and am a true believer that using homemade food to "bribe" others makes the most memorable relationships. I use it often. I worked in the restaurant environment for about 25 years, and as a pastry-chef for two years. I enjoy planning and creating cakes, events, and all types of foods. I own and use (frequently) over 300 cookbooks, most especially, my cookbooks from the Le Cordon Bleu. I have never been fortunate enough to go to school and learn from the pros, but consider myself capable of some of the most difficult of menus. I just started my own business called Skills.for.Life. My work is centered around skill building in the area of basic cooking skills, teaching life skills, and working in programs to enlighten children and disadvantaged teens, and teen parents in better ways to manage their shopping and cooking choices. I will also be writing new curriculum, and cookbooks targeting both the caregiver and the adult with disabilities living on their own. Further, the new curriculum will be surrounding gluten and dairy free cooking, diabetic cooking techniques, and how to survive in a college dorm. I received my Bachelor's Degree last year in Professional Business Management, and look forward to finding my true "place" in the world during this next year. I hope, someday, to put a cookbook together that will assist High-Functioning Adults with Developmental Delays. There are no cookbooks out there currently that offer this community respect and dignity while learning to cook. The best types of cookbooks available are currently children's cookbooks -- but they do not address the appropriate nutritive values that are needed by adults. I also love to show my miniature schnauzer, "Piper", and can not wait until I can have "babies".
