@Redinia
I am retired -- for almost 12 years. After I retired, which I didn't want to do, I moved back to Iowa to be closer to my family for their support during a hard time, and I knew I wouldn't be able to make it in Phoenix, AZ, on my retirement income. I am no longer able to work, so working was not an option. For fun I like to dance -- mostly country and classic rock and roll, play pool, and play with my four grandsons. I alos like to go camping, fishing, boating, canoeing, etc. Always willing to try something new. I am not very good at skiing (water); I think you are suppose to ski on top of the water not under it. I am my favorite cookbook. I hardly ever use a recipe for the day to day things. I do use recipes for jams/jellies and canning, and for a dish that I have never made before. The other "cookbook" that is my favorite would be my mom's collection of recipes. For holidays, I do most of the cooking at my place. Somehow over the past few days, when its holiday time, its to my house my daughters and their families come to. They all enjoy the turkey and/or ham that I cook. And they gobble up the homemade pies that I make. When my daughters ask me to fix a meal for them, other than holidays, they either want me to fry chicken or pork chops. They also like it when I make my potato salad -- one that I have been making for years, without a recipe to go by.
