@Pamela Bennett
I just turned 50 this past December...can't believe it! I love to cook and host get-togethers, dinner parties, barbeques, whatever! I grew up in Southern California, but am really wanting to move to a much smaller town. I've been married for 30 years! We went to school together since 1st grade, with myself and two of my friends loving to kick him in the shins and run like crazy...because we liked him!!! We started dating on my 16th birthday (my first kiss from him....AHHHH), got married at almost 20, divorced at 23, and re-married at 24! We have two children, Brianna-24 and Taylor-20 and a grand daughter Julia (Brianna's daughter) who is almost 5. I love, love, love being a grandma! Julia calls me Nama! My very favorite cookbook is the one I created in a journal...I write all of the family favorites, friends recipes, ones that I've tried that was worth making again in it...sometimes even pasting ones from magazines or friends in it. I wrote a couple of paragraphs on the first page to my children/family when I started it with the hopes that one of the kids will cherish it. It is ripping on the outside, has stains on over half the pages and I treasure it! Some of my pet peeves are: I can't stand phoney people, rudeness, acting bored when spoken to, and people who believe they are better than me (or anyone else for that matter!) I am very 'down-to-earth', love helping others, and sharing my many, many life experiences for others that may get something out of MY mistakes! I have two favorite sayings that I try to live by. From my mom (deceased 7 years now from Ovarian Cancer): "Don't believe anything you hear, only half of what you see, and never, ever judge". And from my husband in high school to me: "Where love abounds, happiness is a reality". Well, I guess I'm done for now! I'll start posting recipes soon! ~Pamela~
