Hello my fellow food-enthusiasts! I love all things food! Cooking it, baking it, eating it...mostly eating it. In addition to posting my favorite recipes on Food.com, you can also follow me on foodspotting.com where I post reviews and pictures of local restaurants. I have an incredible hubby, who likes to mock-protest while I use him as a test bunny for my many diet conflicting confections and calorie questionable concoctions. We also have two little adorable non-picky eaters (thank goodness!), P1 (10 yrs old) and P2 (3 yrs old), who mean the world to us. I've been cooking for as long as I can remember. My earliest and fondest memories are of me at 6, helping my late Italian Grandpa in the kitchen and making omelets and seasoned potatoes before school every morning. I have also been cooking side-by-side with my Brazilian/French Canadian Mother for as long as I can remember. We use to love making cookies just for the heck of it! Yes, I even remember playing hooky in grade school so I could watch my favorite cooking shows, The Frugal Gourmet and Great Chefs of the World because we didn’t have DVR back then. I have always found great comfort in the kitchen, and I think it’s because I have so many wonderful memories being in one with some truly wonderful people. Speaking of wonderful people…I have a huge immediate family full of wanna-be chefs and getting together (which is always an excuse to cook something, right?) usually leads to all of us congregating in a kitchen, surrounded by amazing food and contagious laughter. I am also a chronic coffee drinker, movie quoter, and I love to read, read, and did I mention I love to read? And sadly it seems, I will never grow out of my love for childish bathroom humor. That about sums me up! Hope you enjoy my take on food and I look forward to hearing what you think! Cheers, The Mix'n Vix'n <3 There is no sincerer love than the love of food. ~ George Bernard Shaw
