I live in the NE-most corner of the Los Angeles area, the last house before the wilderness. It is wonderfully quiet despite the huge city sprawled out below, and I have a wonderful, large cook's kitchen with a pot rack and two refridgerators--I am a lucky girl! I teach English composition for a community college, working entirely online from my home. That means that I can be tending my soup or sauce in between posting lessons. I have many cookbooks, but most often reach for Deborah Madison's "Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone." I was fortunate enough to take lessons from her in her own kitchen in NM after I learned of my many food allergies. She taught me a lot about cooking without garlic. What a shock learning of that allergy was! Currently I am learning about wines and food parings, mostly by experimentation--how else!?! :) I am also an avid reader and I love fabric arts and crafts. I live with one husband and three cats, all dear souls who love my cooking. Oh, yes! I do cook for my cats--stock from scratch.
