@Kimigo
A retired caterer, restaurant owner/manager, now enjoying the leisurely, fun side of creating delicious and inviting meals, parties and holidays for my family. I am loving it! I started baking at a very young age and have been exploring the world of food ever since. I have read a few hundred cookbooks and researched cooking from many countries around the world. I want whatever I make to be authentic----a microwave simply cannot replace a wok...so I pride myself in learning the proper ways to prepare foods. My pet peeve is the new quick and easy approach being taken in cooking----when I see these words in front of any recipe that I know is NOT quick and easy, I know it will be a sorry excuse for the original. Just as oven fries are no fries at all. If a dish is DESIGNED to be quick and easy, then fine. Otherwise, please respect the dish and give it the time it deserves. I'm sorry, but cinnamon rolls made with biscuit dough are a disgrace. Polite people will, of course, compliment the cook, but they are all feeding them to the dog under the table.
