@Steph
I was born and raised in a small island of Colombia. I love the variety of culture (ethnicity, music, traditions, and of course food) that make up Colombia. It is quite a shame that I never learned to cook while in Colombia and after coming to the U.S. nothing much has changed. Once I was on my own (not having mommy and daddy to cook my meal -- I didn't realize how spoiled I was). I started venturing to cook or I guess I'll call it cooking ... I burned rice, made chicken rubber, served myself some soggy pasta, and made other specialties of the sort. Lately I have been gaining more interest in cooking and have actually tried some recipes that turned out quiet well to the point that some actually believe I cook very well ... Wow! Quite satisfying and encouraging. So, my trials don't always work; but, as the claim is that practice makes perfect, I am seeking to expand my knowledge of cooking and build up my skills and love for cooking while trying a variety of recipes. I am starting off with some recipes that seem fairly easy; but, I want to work my way up to more advanced level of cooking. Goals: Become more confident in the kitchen, master a wide variety of cooking techniques, learn how to consistently have the food I cook be as tasty and look as appealing as I would expect to find at an expensive but, well worth it restaurant where the food is sinfully delicious. Tall order, but going for it :-)
