Hello everyone from the large but rather unpopulated state of Wyoming. I live in a small town in the northeast side of the state, about an hour drive from Mt Rushmoroe in South Dakota. Currently I am a substitute teacher which leaves me time to raise my 4 year old son. This year was his first year in preschool and I enjoy his daily recants of his adventures. I prefer substituting in elementary and middle school so that is usually where I am at if I am not home. I enjoy keeping the 'old ways' alive so spend my free time learning or perfecting various old skills. Currently I crochet, cross stitch, home can and a myriad of other oddball projects. I would like to learn how to spin wool at some point as well as weaving. I have several christmas ornaments I am cross-stitching for presents as well as a scrap yarn afghan and at the moment I am hip deep in tomatos so working to perfect a good salsa recipe for canning. I am typically a quiet person who enjoys watching the world as it spins around me and perfer to stay in the smaller communities where life is not quite so fast paced. I strongly believe that all the rushing and over-tasking we do in this day and age causes health problems and undesirable effects as well as causing a decrease in enjoyment of life in general. My theory I suppose. :) I love making new dishes as long as they are not extremely complicated. Those sorts of recipes I save for special occasions and due to the fact that I live in a fairly rural area it is often hard for me to get any sort of 'exotic' ingredient. This means any ingredient that is not commonly used in a germanic based community.
