I was born and raised in San Francisco and learned to cook at the knee of my father a frustrated Chef turned Insurance Salesman. I have learned to try almost anything once. Growing up in San Francisco and going to work with my dad long before "take your kid to work" was fashionable I ate at some of the finest restraunts and learned about some of the most out of the way eateries that served the best food bar none. I was a professional Baker for some 30 years and worked in many of the bakeries that populate S.F. I was apprenticed to an Italian Foccicca Baker in North Beach and went on to train with both a German and Dutch Master and eventually owned my own shop in the North Bay Area. I moved to Oregon and to Coos Bay to escape the rat race but the resturaunts leave a lot to be desired. I have been recreating the food of my youth in this forum and will gladly share with anyone who asks.
