Recipe #414851

This recipe courtesy of a restaurant called Big Bowl, which is a casual pan-Asian type of bistro where customers eat savory dishes with noodles or rice.

My Mom gave me this recipe when I went to college in 1976 and I still make it today! Also, the rice is wonderful with many dishes like baked fish or lemon baked chicken. I am submitting the recipe as written but there are so many ways to tweak to your taste-I've done it all-including using fresh shrimp, chicken, and veggies. Also, think about adding more veggies to either the salad or the rice ie green peas, kernel corn, grated carrot, chopped squash---really anything you like! Prep time includes chill time for salad which I recommend to be at least 1 hour. This can also be easily expanded to feed a crowd. I still love it after all these years! Enjoy!!!

Recipe #264918

Absolutely scrumptious party perfect salad. Especially grand for luncheons. Best if made at least one day before serving so the flavors meld.

This is a main course soup with a kick that takes no time to make. You can also substitute chicken. Adapted from Gourmet.

Recipe #80006

This is a great use of leftover rice. It's important to use Thai sweet basil to get the authentic Thai restaurant taste. And don't skip the fish sauce, it smells strong in the bottle, but it blends in nicely with the other ingredients when it's all put together. Also, make sure you use chilled rice, or you'll end up with mush.

Recipe #473225

Very easy and quick one-pot dish you can make with things in your pantry. It's a great way to get some omega and calcium in your diet. I eat it on white rice, but you can eat it like a soup.

DH says "It's Good" (and it is). Good hot or cold. from Canadian Diabetes Association

Recipe #22231

This is my version of the fish chowder from the Company's Coming cookbooks. It is the authentic "Atlantic provinces" style. Serve with Recipe #213970 or your own.

Recipe #213962

Southern Living; This is one of my family's favorite Sunday night suppers. Just add a simple green salad and you have a wonderful quick meal.

This is from my Dutch cook book. It's very simple and tastes great. A quick week night meal. I would use a nice Pinot Grigio wine - use a cup for the recipe, and save the rest to serve with dinner.

Recipe #39283

This looked pretty simple. Not sure where I got it from though.

Recipe #183884

Although the original recipe calls for Halibut, I've found that any firm, white fish will work. If your fish is frozen, soak it in milk to help remove the frozen "fishy" taste. This is an easy recipe that comes together fast. Except for the fish, most people will have all the other ingredients on hand. I love this after a hard work day....quick, easy, and delicious! Original recipe is from the "Reflections of the West" cookbook, but I've made a few changes.

Recipe #424933

This recipe is quick to put together and tasty. It can also be baked in seafood shells or individual ramekins. The recipe comes from my favorite old church cookbook.
