I was searching the internet 2 valentines days ago for a romantic, not too foo-fooey recipe and found this (don't remember what site). This is now my BH's version of comfort food, whenever he feels down he asks me to make "that fancy chicken". I like to serve it with garlic mashed potatoes.
Heart shaped French toast for two. Filled with Tangy, Sweet Raspberry Jam; Warmth of Almond extract; and the Richness of Cream Cheese and Chocolate. Served on one plate with 2 forks to share with you loved one. These are filling! Bread is your choice I did use whole wheat.
I found this on the Pillsbury site and it is going to be presented at the Bake-Off42 in Orlando 2006 by Kelly Lynne Baxtre from Olympia, Wa. It looks so easy and yummy that I figured I'd post it for safe keeping. Perfect for that romantic dinner for the "two" of you.
I've had these a lot at B&B's, probably because they're delicious and dependable if the right technique is used. This dish is puffy around the outside and flat in the center offering the perfect nest for sliced fresh fruit. It's airy, light and makes a beautiful presentation. The batter can be made up to a day ahead and refrigerated.
