This is such a simple recipe I am surprised that there isn't one posted - I couldn't find one. I love the flavor of the two veggies together with that touch of nutmeg - I hope you do too

This is a wonderful way to use the fresh basil from your garden. I've been meaning to make this forever and am so glad I finally did. Delicious, easy, unusual and a beautiful green color. Would make an excellent gift for the holidays. Wonderful as an appetizer with cream cheese and crackers. I found this in Taste of Home by Sue Gronholz, who also suggests combining a jar with one cup of barbecue sauce and simmering mini meatballs or cocktail wieners in the mixture. This recipe assumes knowledge of hot water bath canning. Detailed directions can be found in the Canning Forum.

On St. Louis Street in the French Quarter, Antoine's is New Orleans' oldest Restaurant, and a wonderful place to dine. These Oysters are a favorite appetizer there.

    Recipe #135895

This is from the menu of the Court of Two Sisters, a charming restaurant on Royal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. In the same location, two sisters really did run a shop from 1886 until they died within 2 months of each other in 1924. The property has been operated as a restaurant since 1963.

This cheesecake is just plain SEXY. So delicate, sultry and beautiful! A true indulgence for the vanilla connoisseur. The pure white topping so innocently covers the pure decadence! I experienced love at first sight with this cheesecake and I think you will too! Since vanilla, almonds and walnuts are aphrodisiacs, I plan on adding this to my Valentine's Day menu and have posted it here for safe keeping! The recipe was adapted from All-American Sexy Foods by Peggy Cullen. A 10 for total YUM factor! Wine Suggestion: A creamy bubbly, such as Michele Chiarlo Moscato d’ Asti Nivole 2003 is a wonderful combination with this dessert. Or try a dessert Trebianno such as Late Harvest Trebianno.

Turkish coffee is not just limited to turkey, but is a traditional drink all over the middle east. You can buy freshly roasted and prepared coffee beans while you wait Turkish coffee from most middle eastern grocers in the united states. They usually use a combo blend of light and dark coffee beans and grind cardamom up in it at the same time. You can even purchase Turkish coffee pots that Turkish coffee is made in at most grocers. If you don't have a Turkish coffee pot, don't worry, you can use any pot. This recipe is the next best thing.*Measurements are approximate, so you may add or decrease according to taste buds*

Here's a very traditional Finnish bread recipe. Typically this would be made into rolls, but no reason you couldn't make it into a loaf too. It has a great orange-yellow colour and a mild carrot flavour. It's from my trusty baking book Suuri Leivontakirja - Kotilieden parhaat leivonnaiset.

A delicious mix of sweet and spicy is the best way to describe this interesting bread. I like to serve it with my South West Salad, or with some bean soup or corn chowder. Now that I think about it, how about for breakfast with some chorizo and eggs?

    Recipe #53577

Versatile mini Irish soda breads that are good served with cheese, spread with butter and jam at teatime, or paired with a main-course salad. How about cooking up a batch for Saint Patrick's Day? I found this recipe on a baking website called DianasDesserts.com for Zaar World Tour 2005.

Wonderful Bass with a great flavor. This is a keeper and so worth trying!!! From the lovely magazine: Food & Wine. Wine: Try an Alsatian Pinot Gris, such as the 1997 Domaine Ostertag Fronholz.

These succulent crab cakes and the accompanying cilantro dressing are adapted from Matthew Kenney's Mediterranean Cooking (Chronicle Books). The Cilantro-Orange Dressing makes about One Cup. The dressing can be refrigerated for up to 4 hours. Let return to room temperature before serving.

The small amount of beef in these artichoke meatballs helps hold them together. If artichokes are unavailable, substitute plain mashed potatoes. Canned or Jarred artichokes will save a lot time. This recipe is by Nancy Harmon Jenkins from the Devine Secrets of the Mahjoub Sisterhood, North Africa. Note: Tabil is made with onions and garlic dried in the strong Tunisian sun. For a close approximation, toast 3 tablespoons of caraway seeds, 1/2 cup of coriander seeds and 3 seeded dried red chiles in a large skillet over low heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Let cool, then grind the mixture to a powder. Store the tabil in a jar in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks. MAKE AHEAD: The meatballs can be fried up to 6 hours ahead and kept at room temperature. Reheat in a 350° oven for 10 minutes. The sauce can be refrigerated for up to 2 days
