1. I think this is a natural progression type of recipe. I started making these in the 1960's while trying to get a fix for my french fry desires. I always thought I had invented the thing. Lol! I made the mistake of showing my 7 and 8 year old sons this easy dish about 10 years ago. They still make them, trying different things to modify the flavor. I'm sure they will pass the recipe on to their kids one day.

I bet you are the types who put Ketchup on potato chips wishing they were really fresh french fries.

Thanks for making feel more normal. My brother, a health nut, thinks I was adopted or something. He was less happy when he saw one of my sons making one a couple of years ago.

I am going to have to break out of my box and try it with peanut butter.

P.S. I could live on french fries!

 3. Seeing this recipe makes me laugh. My roommate and I used to eat a lot of these during my sophomore year of college. We would use Cool Ranch Doritos. YUMMY!

 4. Funny that we were just talking about my fav sandwich at lunch break - in school I always added chips to my sandwiches and still make chip sandwiches one in awhile. Usually I just use butter but will try it with the mayo

 5. Would rate this high for my son, but he hates mayo. His choice was mustard, a slice of cheese or two, three, and whatever chips we had in the pantry...He pretty much lived on it when the choice was his!! If we had corn chips he would disappear with a couple of these sandwhiches and the jar of picante sauce.
