I will most certainly be making this again! Unfortunately, I waited too long to review this since making it, so I don't remember all the changes I made. However, I do know that I added a few cups of water, because I wanted this a little more soupy than the 1 1/2 C of broth would make it. I also only used part of 1 large onion, as DH and roommate don't care for onions. They both ate this up though, so I think it's a keeper!

Wonderful easy stew recipe for venison. The only change I made was to substitute barley for the potatoes, thereby needing to add more water. Just winged it with this change since barley soaks up more liquid than potatoes. This will be my "go-to" recipe for venison stew. I can even see it working great for those more exotic cut of meat such as beef...LOL Thanks

This is so easy and very, very good! My husband is a hunter and he got a deer this year. So, I've been looking for recipes that I can put the venison from last year into. This is most definitely one of those recipes that I will keep in mind next it's a venison night! Also, the leftovers from this meal freezes VERY well. :)
