Vanilla Butter Frosting

"Alot of recipes for a basic butter frosting usually use way too much powdered sugar, are overlly sweet, and have no flavor. So I decided make up my own recipe for perfectly sweet vanilla butter frosting. I use less powdered sugar so you can taste the delicious butter and vanilla flavors instead of just powdered sugar. I like to use this frosting to frost cupcakes with."

  1. This was a super easy and fast recipe to whip up when I was short on time. It was smooth and creamy but not overly sweet. It spread smoothly over the cupcakes and my 8-year old daughter had no problems working with it. Great job!

  2. Awsome! This frosting is just what I was looking for to frost my valentines cupcake with, the flavor of the butter and vanilla really come through and it doesn't stiffen up like royal icing or other butter creams that have tons of sugar. It's best to frost cup cakes and cakes with, but I would think it would not be ideal for piping a making rosettes as it it is soft a creamy and doesn't harden. I was also looking for an alternative to the store bought versions that are loaded with trans fats.

I don't really like to cook that much, but I love to bake. My favorite thing to do is bake yummy homemade cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and more. I enjoy eating bake goods as much as making them! I have a sweet Miniature Schnazer named Oliver that we adopted from the animal shelter. I like to collect old cookbooks, the oldest one I have is from 1913. My favorite magazines are Bon Appitite and Martha Stewart's Every Day Food. I just became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Around my house i'm known as the pissed off baker because when I bake you better stay out of the kitchen!!!
