  1. I used one cup vegetarian ground beef (TVP) rehydrated with a cup and a half of water, seasoned with soy sauce, salt and pepper in place of the meat in this recipe and it was awesome. Never having had real cabbage rolls before, I didn't know what it was "supposed" to taste like, but my half Polish boyfriend approved heartily! More cabbage would be great because I like it, but it wouldn't fit in the pan! So easy too..it only took me about 10 minutes to put together. I found cooking time to be right on.

  2. Tebo...this was a very fast and easy recipe. I love stuffed cabbage, but the work makes life verrry messy. Thank you for something quick and tasty. Just have to put this in for fun..Mom used to make stuffed cabbage in a pressure cooker..til it blew up....sauerkraut hanging from the ceiling! Thanks again! Jill

  3. This was quite yummy and turned out well. My family enjoyed it. :)

  4. I followed the recipe as written, except for adding some Penzeys Barbecue Seasoning (which I use in my regular cabbage rolls)to the beef. This tasted really good, and was far less work than regular cabbage rolls, but there was one major problem - a lot of the rice remained crunchy and uncooked. Not sure why, since there seemed to be plenty of liquid. The cabbage seemed a little undercooked as well. I might try precooking the rice for a bit next time, and perhaps leaving it in the oven longer.

  5. I made this recipe with ground turkey and it was really tasty. I browned the turkey at the same time as the onion and added the rice for the last few minutes. I also sauteed the cabbage for a few minutes in olive oil. With a doubled recipe, it called for 6 TBSP brown sugar and I only added 5, which I actually found to be too much. Next time I'll half the sugar. I also used lemon & herb seasoning instead of lemon pepper. I'll make this again for sure, but with some tweaking. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I substituted one can of tomato soup mixed with one can of water for the tomato/mustard/brown sugar mixture. It turned out very well. So simple to make. Next time I think I will use more cabbage: 3 cups or maybe even 4 cups.

  4. Use pork sausage instead of ground meat, and it comes out wonderful.
