Tootsie Roll -- the Drink

"New Years Eve-- After getting the house sparkling, preparing all the little goodies and beautifully arranged on their trays (only to be devoured later), and getting myself spiffed up as well did my thoughts turn to... what am I going to drink tonight at our annual NYE party. Well, at my husband's insistence I finally tried this particular drink that he had found on "The Professional Bartender" program we have on our pc. Perhaps it helped me help my team win the Women VS. the Men at SCENE IT ( great game for movie buffs), perhaps not.. but I certainly enjoyed the drinks as well as getting my daily dose of Vitamin C!"

  1. Very good. Made for PAC 2011.

  2. This has a great taste. Very different but good. It reminds me of a yellow bird (in my recipes). Thanks CookBookCollector :) Made for Let's Party event

  3. Taste just like Tootsie Rolls!

  4. I didn't care for these. I used Kaluha, and the taste wasn't good. Sorry for the bad review, I think a different liqour might be better - maybe creme de cocoa.

  5. These are wonderful. Back in my youth I was a pretty bar wench at the local water hole and I used to make these. These can also be made with equal parts orange juice and creme de cacoa. People are always amazed they really do taste like a tootsie roll!

Wow, what a year and it's only May! We moved to Tucson from Missouri in late March and We Love it! Madly Huge differnce from the Show-me State. It REALLY is a Dry Heat! My husband grew up in the desert in California and has been wanting to wander this way since we met, and when the opportunitycame our way, we set off. I am always on the lookout for new-to-me old cookbooks. I love to read the cookbooks to get ideas and inspiration. I particularly enjoy the ones that read like books. For the amount of cooks books I own it is surprizing just how little I ever follow a recipe. I am always and forever reinventing recipes and making them suit our tastes. We have tried a few restaurants in Tucson and look forward to the vast diversity that the city offers.. We have found the perfect little taco stand that serves wonderful tacos and many other items we want to try!
