- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1⁄4 cup half-and-half cream (the half and half cream is better to use) or 1/4 cup milk (the half and half cream is better to use)
- 1 cup kraft Cheez Whiz
- 2⁄3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 pinch salt
- fresh ground black pepper (optional and to taste)
directions
- In a small saucepan over low heat combine all ingredients stirring until melted and combined (do not boil).

Can you use whole milk instead of half and half?

I used heavy cream, added about 1/8 teaspoon of Worcestershire and 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard powder. You can thin it a bit if necessary with milk. This is so good on veg!! -

What a great versatile cheese sauce. This easy-to-make sauce is rich, creamy and cheesy. I served it over mixed vegetables. But I can see many uses for it....baked potatoes, Mexican dishes, etc. I knew I could count on you, Kittencal. This is GREAT!!!!!!!!
