Texas Hot Sauce
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

- hot dog, grilled (Tobin hot dogs)
- hot dog bun, steamed
- plain yellow mustard
- chopped onion
directions
- Make the sauce: in a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add in onion; stir/saute onion until soft but not brown.
- Add in ground beef and spices; mix well; add enough water to just cover mixture.
- Simmer mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally until meat is cooked and sauce is thickened, about 30 minutes.
- To serve—place hot dogs in buns and top with Texas Hot Sauce, mustard, and onion; serve immediately.
