Syrian Rice Pilaf Mix — Jar Mix

This is based on _The Perfect Mix_ by Diane Phillips modified to suit our family size and preferences. The original recipe was double the size of what I have listed here, but since we are only 3 people, 3 1/2 (ish) cups is just way too much for a side dish for us.

- 2 tablespoons orzo pasta (rice-shaped pasta)
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1 teaspoon bouillon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 cup rice
- 1⁄8 teaspoon turmeric

- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 1⁄4 cups water
directions
- Mix first 6 ingredients and store in an airtight container.
- Directions to add: Melt the butter in a medium saucepan and add the Syrian Rice Pilaf Mix. Stir to coat the rice and pasta with the butter, browning lightly. Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover and reduce the heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, or until the pilaf is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
