Super Healthy-No Fat Smoothie

"This is inspired from a recipe I saw yesterday on a French TV cooking show. Couldn't be healthier or easier. This is for one large serving. It could easily serve two, or just multiply the recipe. You really need a blender to do this correctly."

directions

  • Peel, seed and cut the apple and orange into large chunks.
  • Put the chunks in the blender with the water, and, honey, some sugar, or fake sweeetner, if desired.
  • Blend until it is thick, it takes a minute or two, and I went up to the higest blender setting to get it really smooth.
  • Pour into a glass and have as part of a really healthy breakfast.
  • Can use an apple and a pear, as an alternative.
  • Or other fruit would work as well.

  1. Great! I used an apple and some fresh pineapple which is properly food combined as per http://detoxifynow.com/Images/foodcombining%20(Small).jpg I will be trying this with different fruits.

  2. This is really good. I used a Green apple and an orange. Both were room temperature so I used a couple ice cubes and substituted the water with a splash of milk. I was really curious how this paring would taste, and definitely impressed. Next time I'm going to add some pineapple for a bit more tartness.

  3. This is such a healthy and filling drink, so satisfying and nutritious. I used a pear with an apple and no sweeteners. I just drank this with my 2 yr old son. We both loved it and we're huge fans of fresh fruit drinks, will try apple & orange next time. Thanks for posting Kasha!

  4. DH and I shared this and while he thought it could be sweeter, I thought it tasted perfect. I did use about a pinch of sugar in this. I think next time I may use more orange to apple ratio but that's just a personal preferance, as this tasted great! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful recipe Kasha!

  5. Been doing that blend for some good time. Try these suggestions: Use some LowFat milk instead of water. A tablespoon of honey. 3 helping of lowFat yogurt and BlendAway... EnjoY!
