Super Bowls from Bellalimento

After seeing this recipe on Paula's blog, I decided to do it but with ground beef : http://pauladoespasta.com/2010/02/super-bowls-appetizer-for-your-super-bowl-party/ Since I did half the recipe I can't tell how many bowls you'll have. And I didn't count how many I had. I guess between 30-60 bowls.

ingredients
- 24 wonton wrappers (in the recipe it says 1 package but I don't know how many it is)
- 1 lb ground turkey (I used lean ground beef)
- 2 stalks green onions, minced (more to garnish if you want to be fancy)
- 2 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 2 inches fresh ginger, minced (I omitted it)
- 6 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
- pepper
-
Wasabi Mayo
- mayonnaise
- wasabi powder
directions
- Make your wasabi mayo first. This will get stronger as it sets up so be mindful. Amounts will depend on your personal taste. You only need a small dollop of wasabi mayo on each super bowl. Start by adding the powder mixing it together & tasting. Adjust as necessary. Place mayo in fridge when you’re satisfied with taste.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees to make wonton bowls. Spray a mini muffin tin with cooking spray. Place one wonton wrapper into each hole. Making sure it is pressed down to the bottom. Bake for 10-12 mins or until golden.
- In a large bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic & ginger. Season with pepper. Add the soy sauce. Mix together well (careful not to over mix or meat will be tough). You want the mixture to be a nice light brown color.
- Place a medium saute pan over medium heat. When your pan is hot, add the turkey mixture & cook until done (just a few mins).
- To assemble: Place a small spoonful of the turkey mixture into each cooked wonton wrapper. Garnish with a small dollop of the wasabi mayo & a sprig of thinly sliced green onion (optional).

To be honest I would only rate this recipe with 2 stars if I were just rating off my opinion, but a few people in my family did like these so it is just my personal taste. The recipe was very easy to follow, and the presentation was great. I do recommend trying this recipe, but if you do not like, or are not familiar with wasabi, go easy on the wasabi powder when making the mayo.Reply
