Sugar Cookies, if It Has to Come to That

"I've never liked sugar cookies until I bumped into my in-laws after absconding with their son. Very convenient. These are nice and soft with a hint of nutmeg."

  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and butter in bowl until fluffy.
  • In a measuring cup, beat eggs and vanilla. pour in cream until the combined liquids reach the 1 cup mark.
  • Stir into mix.
  • Roll out on floured board. Cut out.
  • Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes.
  • Cool and frost.

  2. the recipe doesn't say to melt the butter so I cut the butter in as you would for biscuits then added other ingredients. I substituted milnot skim milk for the cream as I didn't have any cream and cut the sugar down to 1 cup and they were still plenty sweet enough. my gk really liked them.
