Sugar-And-Spice Nuts

"I make these often during the holiday season -- everyone loves them. They also make a great hostess gift in a pretty jar. Thanks to Chatelaine, where I found this gem."

I used unsalted mixed nuts with very good results. Looking forward to making these over the winter holidays.

So GOOD. But the yield is way off. I doubled the recipe. But ended up with about the amount of a single batch. Everything seemed fine when I took them out of the oven to cool, I left them cooling while I did other chores. When I returned, about half had "evaporated" (according to my husband and his buds - who were mysteriously milling about my Kitchen).<br/>My recommendation either quadruple the recipe or wait till hubby's out of the house!

I had an egg white that I wanted to use. This is the perfect recipe to use it in.I used 1/2 cup each of peanuts, walnuts, pecans and almonds.I never had cayenne so I used a little bit of chili powder. The hardest thing about this recipe is not eating them as they cool down!

These didn't go over very well. They tasted ok but nothing special. Made as per the recipe.
