  • Bring large saucepan of water to a boil on high heat. Add the salt and green beans. Cook until tender-crisp, 4 to 5 minutes. (See steaming instructions in Step 4).
  • Meanwhile, melt butter on medium heat in large skillet. Cook until butter begins to brown lightly, about 3 minutes. Stir in lemon juice.
  • Drain beans; add to skillet, tossing to coat with butter mixture. Heat through. Season with additional salt and fresh ground black pepper.
  • To Steam: Fill a large pot with 2-inches of water and place a steamer inside. Bring water to a boil. Add string beans and cover for 5 minutes, or until beans are cooked throughout but still crisp to the bite. Continue with Step 2.

I'm just me, mother, grandmother...friend to many and a Louisianian. My Cajun and French Quarter Italian descent afforded me exposure to some of the best of foods. My passions are my family, decorating, cooking and gardening. Those very passions push me into constant awareness with always looking for something new to delight the senses, thus my favorite idiom...Inspire me, puuuullllllleeeeeeease! ...and I mean it, too. God Bless America!
