Sour Cream Pound Cake

"This is my Grandma Suezelle's Sour Cream Pound Cake! There is NOTHING better! Smear it with butter and have a simple amazing pleasure! Enjoy!"

• Serves: 12

ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup sour cream
• 2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

directions

1. Preheat oven to 325.
2. Cream sugar and eggs until light in color and add vanilla.
3. Mix soda into sour cream.
4. Mix sour cream into egg mixture.
5. Sift flour and cream of tartar together and fold into wet mixture.
6. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

This was very quick to whip up, it was baked/ready by the time we fixed supper and ate. Make sure you don't bake past the 60 minutes, it will dry it out. Made this for Spring Pic a Chef 09. Thank you for sharing!

Definitely A GREAT TASTING POUND CAKE, & so easy to make, too! I'll admit I was tempted to dress it up with a homemade sauce, but it really is very tasty in all its plain glory! Wonderful, though, while eating along side a fresh fruit salad! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup tag]
