  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Cream sugar and eggs until light in color and add vanilla.
  • Mix soda into sour cream.
  • Mix sour cream into egg mixture.
  • Sift flour and cream of tartar together and fold into wet mixture.
  • Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

  1. This was very quick to whip up, it was baked/ready by the time we fixed supper and ate. Make sure you don't bake past the 60 minutes, it will dry it out. Made this for Spring Pic a Chef 09. Thank you for sharing!
     
  2. Definitely A GREAT TASTING POUND CAKE, & so easy to make, too! I'll admit I was tempted to dress it up with a homemade sauce, but it really is very tasty in all its plain glory!
