Brussels sprouts are my favorite veggie and I don't think I ever made them in the Crock Pot before this. It works very well. I used fresh sprouts (a bit over 1 lb), but I think this would work well with frozen thawed sprouts as well..... just cooked for less time. I made this as written, just adding a little crushed garlic. Delicious! Thanx for posting this!

Seriously, I don't get it. I enjoy brussels sprouts, and I followed the recipe exactly as written. After four hours on low, the sprouts were a bunch of gray mush balls. The taste of the mustard and salt was non-existent. A total waste of brussels sprouts. After sampling two of them, the rest went directly into the trash. And, I hate wasting food.

Have been using this recipe for years; it's very easy and very delicious. This is my wife's favorite preparation for brussels sprouts (I prefer roasted with olive oil) so it's the one I prepare most frequently. The sprouts come out tender, but al dente; perfect bites of flavor. The only downside, as for any crock pot sprouts recipe, is it will smell up your house. I bring my cooker to the garage and plug it in there. Also, the color and texture of the dish isn't great if you're going for an impressive visual presentation; sprinkling a garnish on top will help, any green herb suited to the meal works as will bread crumbs.
