  • Chop chicken, carrots, potatoes, celery, and onion and put them in the slow cooker.
  • Pour the mushrooms on top.
  • Sprinkle on the seasonings, pour in the water and lemon juice, and put the lid on cooker.
  • Let cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for the day.
  • Dinner is ready when you walk in the door.

  1. I always hesitate trying an unreviewed recipe. -This SOUNDED like it would be good, but it was quite bland even given the spices. No doubt healthy as she said, but bland. It didn't even taste very "chickeny" - My husband told me to throw it away but I managed to salvage it into something tastier by adding a rope of sliced smoke sausage and two cans of Ranch Style beans to about half of the stew and heat it through. Since that seemed to do the trick, I did the same thing again with the other half of the stew.
