Simple Sesame Ginger Chicken

"This is a quick way to flavor chicken; because it's thick, you can baste instead of having to marinate. I suggested a couple of different ways to prepare this."

  1. so yummy, i cubed the chicken and cooked down the sauce to reduce it. served this with some brown rice and veggies. the sauce is delish :-) thanks for posting

  2. Fabulous! I made this for dinner tonight and we all loved it. I did add some green onions, garlic, peppers and a bit of crushed red pepper flakes. This is very close to what you get in Chinese restaurants.

  3. The sauce didn't have as much sesame flavor as I would have liked and on the grill it burned and turned black and not so tasty. Next time I think I would try adding some garlic and red pepper flakes to give it a bit more flavor.

  4. So delicious!! And extremely easy! I added a little red pepper flakes and garlic..and cooked the chicken in some sesame oil, but it was delicious. Was a little too much ginger for my husband, so next time I might use half as much....but I LOVE ginger and it was extremely flavorful!!

  5. Simple and delicious!

Tweaks

  1. This marinade has a great flavor. Here's an adaptation I came up with that also turned out well: substitute pork for the chicken (I use the boneless butterfly chops), and cook on low in the crockpot for 6-8 hrs., adding water chestnuts and broccoli for the last 30 min. Goes well over rice.

  2. Wonderful taste and so easy! I stir-fried chicken breast pieces and then simmered them in this sauce for about 30 minutes. The chicken came out beautifully golden brown and delicious. I also used garlic instead of ginger. Will definitely make again!

  3. Loved it! It was quick and easy with simple ingredients, perfect for when you don't really want to cook. I cut down on the ginger (not my favorite) and replaced some of it with garlic instead. Turned out great!
