"Johnny Cash was my husband's cousin and I was lucky enough to obtain a cookbook of Johnny's mother's recipes titled, "Favorite Recipes From Mama Cash's Kitchen." I've been asked to post some of the recipes from the book and this is one of them."

• Yields: 2 1/4 cups of breadcrumbs

ingredients

• 2 cups fine breadcrumbs
• 1⁄4 cup grated parmesan cheese
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
• 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic salt

directions

1. Combine all ingredients and store in freezer or refrigerator until needed.

I won't rate this recipe, since I didn't follow it exactly, but I'll give it a review. It was really tasty! First, I toasted two large slices of homemade bread (made from Recipe #46479) on high on my toaster, then put all the ingredients together in the blender (I used 24 twists of Kraft "Grate-It-Fresh" Parmesan. The bread crumbs I made from the toast were coarse, and not fine. Maybe one day I will try this recipe with fine bread crumbs, so I can rate this recipe. In the meantime, this will probably be my go-to recipe for seasoned bread crumbs! I used them on Pan Seared Scallops (Recipe #134951). Thanks!
