  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Salt and pepper both sides of the scallops and place them in the pan. Whatever you do, do not move the scallops at all until ready to flip.
  • Sear the scallops on each side for 1.5 minutes, then remove from the pan and serve.

    THE best way to cook scallops! I used a 12 oz pkg of frozen scallops (on sale at Aldi for $9.99!) and they came out perfect. I served with long grain and wild rice and broccoli. Thanks for recipe.

    Delicious succulent scallops! I grilled mine, as it is over 100 degrees F here and I didn't want to heat up my kitchen. Made for "When It's Hot/When It's Not" tag game 2010.
