Salsa With Yogurt

"This is fast and tasty variation on salsa, which still maintains the healthy aspect of salsa. Each time I serve it at a party someone asks for the recipe. You can always substitute fresh salsa for the stuff in jars if you want. Greek yogurt makes a stiffer salsa, regular yogurt, a runnier salsa."

So easy and such a great idea! My low carb hubby loved it with greek yogurt and celery for dipping.

DH called this "saw-sa wit yo-gut". That's ok with me because of all his mispronounced words, this hurts my ears the least. He ate it all. Made for ZWT#8~Mexico/Tex-Mex.

Made for ZWT-8 because I decided to try some new Mex-style condiments. This is so deceptively simple that you could doubt its worth when you shouldn't. I used a med-heat, all chunky-style salsa w/a good thick yogurt. At 1st taste, I thought it might benefit from a little salt, but I resisted that urge. I toasted a good quality bakery bread, buttered it slightly, topped it w/Gouda cheese & then smeared the whole thing w/your Yogurt Salsa. It was just wonderful & right away I wanted to make eggs (or an omelette), meatballs, meatloaf, casseroles, a taco salad .. or .. set it beside a bowl of tortilla chips, almost anything I could pair w/it. As you can guess, your little recipe will get a lot of use in our house & I won't have to serve both sour cream & salsa. Thx for sharing your recipe w/us. Yum! (DH is away w/our camera, so a pic will post in a dy or 2) :-)
