- 1⁄2 cup rye flour
- 3⁄4 cup wheat germ
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3⁄4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄3 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
directions
- Mix first five ingredients together. Mix last four ingredients together and stir all into dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Spread batter into well-greased 8x8 pan.
- Bake at 350F for 30 to 35 minutes.
- When cool enough to handle, but still warm, cut into bars. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
