Rum Slush

"This is so yummy! I can remember as a young teenager sneaking into the back freezer and getting some of this, but only a little at a time! My parents thought they hid it well in the large freezer, but I was always determined to find it. (Cooking time is freezing time)(Serving is approximately)"

  1. Perfect punch for a rockin party! Make sure you have a huge punch bowl. It's very tropical tasting and you can't even taste the rum - so be careful - it's so good, you'll keep drinking it and before you know it - BOOM! It instant buzz!

  3. For some reason this did not turn out for me; it had a bitter taste and my husband was mad at me for wasting his good rum. We threw the whole batch out.

  4. Have been making this rum slush for years and found that the biggest Tupperware Thatsa Bowl was just the perfect size for this recipe and the freezer, and it's great to be able to cover and store the leftovers if any. First saw this as a rum punch using Coco Lopez, less frozen but with a whole gallon of frozen orange sherbert cut in chunks and floating in the punch. Over time we froze it more, added a can of fruit cocktail on occasion, tried diet 7-up as a low calorie version, etc. Eventually we learned to leave out the rum entirely so that the children as well as anyone on medication could enjoy it too. Now we leave room all summer in the freezer so we are never without this treat during the hottest months.

  5. WOW!!! Made this when having friends over. So similar to a pina colada except you can't taste the rum, I think the cherries and pineapple chunks "absorb" it. Will be making this again!
