Round Steak & Onions

"This is one of my favorite recipes. It takes a little longer to cook than some recipes, but is very worth it. The gravy you'll make is wonderful served over mashed potatoes."

  1. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about with this needing a little boost in the flavor department - it was amazing! I did not use the marjoram (forgot about it) and cooked the steaks for probably a bit over an hour. I cannot believe how delicious this turned husband says it has to go on our regular rotation! Thanks for a great recipe. This one's a keeper!
  2. Really liked this one. The next day I put the leftovers through a food processor and spread on bread and cooked like grilled cheese. I added a little bit of sweet pickle relish and spread some mayo on the inside. Great comfort food!! Thanks!!
  3. I love the marjoram in this recipe. I use blade steak as it has a much beefier flavor. To change it up, I'll mix some beef broth with cornstarch instead of using sour cream. Great recipe! Thank you for posting.
  4. The onions and gravy are so good with this recipe. For me, the meat was still a little tough, but that was my bad, as I don't think I pounded the meat thin enough. I dipped the meat into the flour mixture after I pounded it. I served this with mashed potatoes and my husband raved about it.
  5. I was looking for something different to do with round steak so i tried this and my family really liked it. This will be a recipe that i will make when my in-laws come for a visit from North Carolina. I followed this recipe exactly i(we) wouldn't change it all.
