  • Put the flour in the mixing bowl and add a couple shakes of salt. Cut in the egg. Cut in milk a tablespoon at a time until the mixture is crumbly. Use your hands to crumble little pieces of dough into your boiling stock. Should be pea-sized or slightly larger. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

  1. I have to say, I didn't do this exactly as the recipe indicates...I wrote it down incorrectly and only discovered my mistake when I accessed the recipe to review it. My dough was not crumbly, but was a little sticky, and I didn't crumble small bits into the broth, I blobbed small bits from a spoon. However, it still tasted great! I can't wait to try it again properly! Both of my children loved the dumplings in their soup, and asked for seconds. I will definitely use this recipe again and again.
