ingredients
- 1⁄4 cup butter, soft
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 cup brewed coffee, hot
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup raisins

ICING
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 -5 teaspoons water
directions
- In a bowl, combine butter and brown sugar until crumbly. Add egg and mix well. Gradually beat in coffee.
- Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Add to the coffee mixture; mix well. Stir in raisins.
- Transfer to a 13x9x2-inch baking pan coated with nonstick spray. Bake at 350 degrees 18-20 minutes, until edges pull away from sides of pan and toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, vanilla and enough water to make it spreading consistency. Spread on warm bars.

I love these bars! They aren't overly rich like some bars can be. The coffee flavor is subtle and the recipe wouldn't be near as good without it. For whatever reason, I needed to bake them for about 35 mins and they wanted to stick to the pan. Next time, I think I'll line the pan with parchment paper. Thanks for sharing this keeper recipe.

Well, I can say I can't give this a real fair review as I totally messed up the recipe by adding a full stick of butter.:-) So that's why the 5 stars:YUMMY: Maybe a blessing, maybe not. This is what happens when I'm attempting to make more than one recipe at a time. Anyway, these are heavenly little bars Sweety. I did not make the icing for the top and instead spinkled with a mixture of cinnamon/sugar. I didn't think it needed anymore fat grams!! Made for 123 HitWonders and March's CoffeePhoto Tag~
