Potatoes came out delicious, but they do need much more time in the oven than is stated here.

I had a monster 1 pound potato, microwaved 5 minutes with 5 fork stabs, rinsed off, coated with butter, salt, and pepper, wrapped in foil, and put in oven 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Smash it on the counter and let it sit 5-10 minutes. This is the best baked potato I've ever had.

Potatoes are still quite hard after 30 mins in the oven. I microwaved them for longer originally as it sounded too good to be true.

Worked like a charm!! Four minutes was plenty for my potato (I did them one at a time in the microwave and then all together in the oven). If you happen to have a really giant potato you might need a bit more microwave time, but 4 was perfect for mine. After the microwave, I oiled and salted them before throwing them in the oven. 10 min was plenty of time and they were perfect.
