  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Combine the 3/4 cup sugar, flour,3 Tbl cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • Blend in milk, butter and vanilla.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • Pour into 8x8 or 9x9 pan.
  • Mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 4 Tbl cocoa in a small bowl.
  • Sprinkle in an even layer over top of batter.
  • Pour hot water over everything in pan.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Let stand 15 minutes and serve warm.

  3. This is the best fix when you're craving something chocolatey and warm. It's so easy to make and everyone loves it! Personally, I prefer to eat it with Peanut Butter Ice Cream, but any kind of ice cream is fantastic with it. Thanks for the great recipe.

I grew up as an Army B.R.A.T. and learned to enjoy eating different types of food from different parts of the world depending on where we were living. I learned to cook from my mom who is a terrific cook and who started me out at an early age. I work at a daycare in the two year old class and like to use cooking and baking as a means of relaxing. I have two children 5 and 8. My 8 year old loves seafood and my 5 year old would live off chicken, mashed potatoes and corn if I would let her. My husband of 10 years just wants variety in our meals so I find myself always looking for something new to fix.
