Potato Bread (Bread Machine)

"Potato bread made easy with instant potatoes and powdered milk. I sometimes put the machine on dough cycle and remove the dough and make it into 2 small loaves for dinner"

• Yields: 1 loaf

ingredients

• 3⁄4 cup water
• 2⁄3 cup instant potato flakes (or 1/2 cup mashed potatoes)
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1⁄4 cup powdered milk
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3 cups flour
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons yeast

directions

1. In the bowl of your bread machine, add the ingredients in the order that they are listed. Make sure that the yeast is not touching the water.
2. Select basic setting.

I love this one! More potatoes than other recipes I've tried -- makes it last longer without getting dried out, and we don't eat a lot of bread so that's a plus. I use the instant bread cycle on my Toastmaster machine, so I increase the yeast to 1 tablespoon. This is now my favorite potato bread.

What a great bread recipe! I had to add 1/4 cup more water but other than that it was perfect. I used the dough cycle on the bread machine and baked it in the oven. It had a great crust, beautiful texture and tasted fantastic. This one is definately a keeper! I made this for my-3-chefs. Thanks Abby Girl.
