directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment or foil.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, flour, extras (fruit, nuts, choco chips) and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well using your hands. (or on low in the mixer until combined) Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be too hard to cut.

  1. This recipe is a keeper. I added flax seed, peanut butter and bran. Instead of cranberry I used raisins. I toasted the oats and sunflower seeds first before mixing. I pressed the granola in a 13 by 9 by 1pan with a rolling pin to press down evenly. This is the best recipe! You wont be disappointed. I spent a lot of money at a warehouse store buying a small company's home made granola bars thinking it would be hard to make my own but this one is so easy and very tasty....
